Actually, making soap with kids can be a wonderful way to spend some great quality time together.
Homemade gift giving is easy, just get a 2 lbs melt and pour soap base from the local craft store, some essential oils and you are good to go.

Grind the oatmeal in a food processor, silver bullet or coffee grinder to the consistency that you want for your melt and pour oatmeal soap. Coarser oatmeal has a more exfoliating feel and a finer substance will make a smoother soap.
Oatmeal and Honey Soap
INGREDIENTS
- 454 grams (1 lb) of melt and pour soap base
- ¼ cup of coarsely ground rolled oats (not the instant kind)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 3 teaspoons essential oils or fragrance (vanilla, lavender, clove, oatmeal and honey or chamomile)
Follow these simple melt and pour instructions.
We have some suggestions for molds that you can use. Removing the molded soap is easier if you put it in the fridge for 10-15 minutes.

INGREDIENTS
- 454 grams of melt and pour soap base
- ¼ cup of coarsely ground rolled oats (not the instant kind)
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 teaspoons non-fat milk powder
- 2 teaspoons orange essential oil
- 1 teaspoon lemon essential oil
