I was bit skeptical when I first read a lotion bar recipe.

People raved about these bars and they are so simple to make that I thought that there must be a catch.

After I made my first batch I WAS SOLD!

I will not go back to any other form of lotion for my legs.

Friends and family cannot get enough of them and when I show them how to make them, they cannot believe the huge savings by taking 30 minutes to make these yourself.

Lotion bars are simply lotion that is hard and instead of in a tube of jar it is in a bar form. The bar (I like mine smaller and square) will warm in your hands and when you rub on your body it will leave a slight coat of wonderful moisturizing oil that is not when but I would describe more as a protective barrier.

Lotion bar supplies are not to difficult to find, the recipes that follow are easy, they both need beeswax and if you decide not to use any scent, the beeswax gives off a gentle warm honey smell that is nice.

I visited a favorite handmade cosmetic store and behold there were massage bars, I realized that they were the exact same products that I had created with my quick lotion bar recipe! These massage bars were selling for 10 dollars. I set out to make some.

The picture below is of my version of the best massage bar. I used the lotion bar supplies for the Shea Lotion Bar recipe above. I placed Aduki Beans (you can find in Bulk Food Stores) at the bottom of the mold and I added peppermint and cinnamon leaf essential oils to soothe muscles after a workout or a tough day.

best massage bar ever!
