Melt and pour soapmaking is often referred as a way to make soap without lye. This is not really accurate.

The premade base that you purchase does have saponified lye in it, the truth is you willnot need to handle any lye to make these great smelling soaps.

Lavender has too manybenefits to list on one page. I call it the everything oil.

It is recommended byherbalists and aromatherapists for many uses and concerns.

Lavender Swirl Soap

INGREDIENTS

  • 454 grams (1 lb) of melt and pour white soap base
  • 1 tablespoon poppy seeds
  • 3 teaspoons lavender essential oil
  • 1 pinch of activated charcoal
  • 1 teaspoon of purple coloring (foodcoloring, mica, beet root powder)

Separate the soap base into 2 bowls. Iheated one in the microwave and the other in a double-boiler on the stovetop.

Put the coloring and poppy seeds in one batch (double-boiler) and the essentialoil in the other.

Simply pour into the molds and swirl the2 soap batches together.

Lavender Eucalyptus Soap

INGREDIENTS

  • 454 grams of melt and pour white soap base
  • 2 teaspoons lavender buds
  • 2 teaspoons lavender essential oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon essential oil
  • ½ or more teaspoon turmeric powder (yellow color)
